Every facet of life in Florida depends, directly or indirectly, on our natural environment. The State's economic success is driven by tourism, agriculture, and other industries that attract people to our shores and in-land areas. Florida's continued growth places great demands on natural resources.

Landscape Inspectors play a vital role in the conservation of these resources. On a daily basis, Landscape inspectors are involved in improving the quality of the landscape we live in; supporting individuals, business and the public who rely on our services.

Established in 1983, the objective of the Landscape Inspectors Association of Florida has been to set standards for its professional members and provide education to the public involved in the industry.

Professionalism: On a daily basis our members are responsible for:

  • Landscape inspections
  • Landscape ordinance development and management
  • Landscape and site plan review
  • Insuring proper tree care
  • Compliance with Florida Department of Plant Industries’ Grades and Standards for plant material

We are typically involved with projects from their conceptual design to final installation to long term maintenance. We continue to educate and learn as a project matures.

Education: As our industry continues to blossom we continue to teach. Our members educate:

  • Home and property owners on the importance of quality landscape and tree management
  • Arborists and tree trimmers on state-of-the-art tree maintenance, preservation and protection techniques
